7th January Mae Rim, Chiang Mai FALL(ing) UP one-day Somatics and Contact Improvisation workshop with Artem Markov at HOME of CONTACT Schedule: 11:00-13:30 first set 15:00-18:00 second set I am wondering to invite you to explore how you organize your own weight in contact dance, during walking, upper supports (on a partner) and through any kind of movement. First part of the day we will work with a quality of falling up. What does it mean? We will explore through exercises which will help us to be more precise and clear with our own weight. We will also explore through embryo development how the central line appeared in the human body. I will try to give you the deep experience of being with your central line. Second part of the day. We will explore lifting with this falling up weight. I appreciate when in contact improvisation we use multidimensional skills: knowledge about how to operate with mass, but also how to be fully present, engaged and embodied, having dance skills and listening skills. It can be so nourishing, because it is so wild. Artem Markov Teacher of the Moscow community of Contact Improvisation. He taught at contact festivals around the world: in Spain, Italy and Israel, as well as giving work-shops in Europe and Asia. Pre-History: ​He has been engaged in Contemporary dance field since 2002. He started dancing CI in 2006, He has been teaching CI since 2008. Since 2006, Artem has been engaged in body-work and movement therapy. From 2014 to 2019, he studied at the Institute of Integrative Body Work and Movement Therapy with Linda Hartley (dip. IBMT). From 2019 to 2021, he graduated from the Christine Cole SomaticBODY Training program (SBT). He teaches at the SBT program, and also he conducts his own somatic courses in Russia.
