Class 1: Fast movement fundamentals and swing out technique
Class 2: Fun moves and variations for fast lindy!
Join Kelly Young and Andrew Jose for a 3 hour Lindy Hop intensive focused on dancing fast. We will be sharing the insights we've gained over our 10+ years of partnering on how to train up your comfort level when dancing Lindy Hop at higher tempos.
Kelly has been swing dancing since finding lindy hop at Atomic Ballroom in 2012, but her love
for dance started at age 7 with ballet classes. She has been lucky enough to study with some of
the modern greats such as Laura Keat, Jo Hoffberg, and Jeremy Otth. As a competitor Kelly has
partnered with some of the best leaders in LA/Orange County, including Andrew Jose and Matt
Richey which has resulted in regional and international wins in both lindy hop and balboa events
such as the National Jitterbug Championships, the International Lindy Hop Championships, and
Hot Rhythm Holiday.
Andrew has been swing dancing since 2008, after taking some classes at university on a whim with no prior dance experience. An avid social dancer first and foremost, Andrew also teaches at Atomic Ballroom and is a regular DJ at local venues. Andrew is a seasoned competitor, and has won multiple titles at events such as the National Jitterbug Championships and the International Lindy Hop Championships. Andrew has a wide variety of experience in the dance, including a 10 year stint as a member of multiple swing dance teams and running his own team, traveling and competing with multiple partners for lindy hop and balboa, and currently serves on the board of directors of the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame.
