Born in Dominican Republic, and raised in Paterson, NJ Alex has adapted his roots and upbringing into his dancing. Hence he brings a mix of raw flavor and energetic showmanship both on stage and on the dance floor. Alex brings the music to life by playing with virtually every beat of the music and showcasing stylish moves matched with flavor and technique. He has been recognized for both his performances and his social dancing skills. He is also the director of Caribbean Soul Bachata and lead choreographer. He's taught and performed throughout the United States and internationally including Canada, China, Germany, Israel, Portugal, Spain, France and Dominican Republic to name a few. Alex hopes to help and inspire other dancers through his classes, workshops and his crowd-pleasing social dancing. Desiree Godsell, born and raised in Houston, Texas, graduated from the High School of Performing and Visual Arts and later went on to receive a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Once moving to NYC she began choreographing and dancing for the Atlantic recording artist Santigold touring the world, and has continued to do so for the last 7 years being featured in numerous music festivals and tv shows. She began her salsa career straight at the top, partnering with the "Mambo King" himself Eddie Torres. Since then she's danced with Griselle Ponce, Jerseys Finest, Sekou McMiller, Maria Torres, Andy Cruz, and Alex Morel. She's also starred in La Mambopera off Broadway, was a finalist on Telefutura's "Quiero Ser Estrella", she's been an emerging choreographer for two rounds of the E-moves dance concert series at Harlem Stages, and was a salsa coach on two separate MTV MADE episodes! She's currently also dancing and teaching with Caribbean Soul. Besides dancing Desiree co-produces her own quarterly Multi Media Dance Concert Series in Brooklyn called The Pearl and continues to make works with her own repertory company the Godsell Dance Collective in New York City! Alex & Desiree are one of the top sought out power couples in the NJ/NY Salsa Scene. They are ready to share all they have with you in this dynamic workshop.
