Welcome to February! We are excited to have Sydnie Hendrix bringing us a month of Latin and Latin-inspired dancing! As always, you don't need to attend all of the weeks, but we bet you will want to! We are also excited to have Nathaniel Abrea bringing us fundamentals. Series Discription Latin dancing can take many forms and each can help expand your fusion dancing. This month we will be working on the basics of 3 Latin social dances and how to fuse them into your current dancing. We will touch on salsa, zouk-lambada, bachata, as well as Latin isolation and rhythms. With the surge of Latin inspiration in pop music this is the perfect opportunity to learn new rhythms and ways to dance to all types of music. We will focus on the technique Latin dances can add as well as the fun and flare. Week 1 Salsa Fusion You can dance Salsa to anything! This week we will be focusing on how to add Salsa into your fusion dancing. Learning some of the basic rhythms and turns as well as how to transition in and out of these rhythms. We will explore dancing to traditional salsa music, modern Latin music, pop, and more. 8pm Salsa Fusion Experienced lesson with Sydney Hendryx 8pm Fundamentals lesson with Nathaniel Abrea Dance 9-midnight with DJs Sydnie, Ryan, and Telind Hosts: Ryan and Tresne Lesson and Dance Sliding Scale* $12-$16 (If you can, please pay on the higher end to help us continue to have live music.) If you can pay $10 dance/$16 lesson plus dance, please do. If you can pay $6/$12, please do that. If somewhere in between is right for you, please pay that. Bio: Sydnie is a dance instructor currently based out of Sacramento CA. Before finding partner dancing Syd has trained in jazz and modern as well as exploring may other solo and cultural based dances. Sydnie's partner dance experience started in Salsa with two years of regular training and practice. Syd since then has explored other Latin Dances, WCS, Fusion, Micro, and Blues. Currently Syd focuses on bringing a consciousness aspect to teaching and dancing. Expanding the knowledge of your mind, body, and soul through the connection of dance.
