The essence of the dance formula: E = MC(2) Expression = Movement x creativity x connection We express from 3 centers: Instinct (body) the source of the movement Heart (emotions) the reason behind the movement Mind (thought) the attention and form (technique) that allows us to communicate / a structure that grounds our expression and enables freedom 6:00pm— kick off the evening with a beginner friendly zouk warm up and a class centered on embodying our feeling with the musicality and awareness of our partners Getting in touch with yourself as a dancer is more than disciplining your body— it means we have to learn how to deal with the thoughts, feeling, habits, criticism, doubts and discoveries that occur to us while dancing. We will experiment with how these inner experiences translate to our partner and influence our connection. Inner stillness = outer grace We will learn some letters of the zouk alphabet and practice put them into words As a result dancers will become more confident and grounded in their bodies and able to give and receive with greater grace and fluidity with their partners Lastly we will work with the breath to ground the movement into our bodies and embody the present moment in an effortless rhythm. 7:30pm-11pm Zouk and ecstatic dance social Other features of the evening: Essential Oils by Daniela to activate our senses and indulge in the essence of presence Light refreshments will be offered.
