About this Event
Join us on an afternoon that will delight your palate with a Brazilian traditional meal called FEIJOADA (a type of beans stew with meats) and for your ears, we will unite musicians from Samba Jovem, Batuque and Others who will make a Samba Jam Session or RODA DE SAMBA.
This fundraiser will support two Non-profit organizations that offer services to the Brazilian and triangle community: the Brazilian Association of the Triangle – ABT and Oxente Brazilian Arts.
ABT is a non-political, non-profit organization whose general purposes are to promote the integration between Brazilian immigrants and the local community, and to foster a deeper understanding of Brazilian culture, tradition and heritage in the Triangle and in the state of North Carolina - NC.
Oxente Brazilian Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to educate and expose people of all ages and backgrounds to Brazilian culture by presenting engaging and entertaining authentic arts and culture expressions and celebrations. Oxente Brazilian Arts is presenting Brazilian Day NC Festival. Currently no other Brazilian Day festivals exist within 300 miles of Durham, so by presenting the first annual Brazilian Day NC Festival Oxente aims to expand their reach, influence, and impact to a larger audience and draw attendees from all over North Carolina and beyond. The festival will include many aspects of Brazilian culture by presenting multiple singers and bands, dance performances and workshops, capoeira demonstrations and workshops, craft vendors, and food vendors.
