Feldenkrais & Contact Improvisation Clever pelvis In the Feldenkrais session, we will investigate how essential the pelvis is in the organization of our movement. Directing attention to internal sensation with guided explorations we will investigate different options in movement to understand and clarify the anatomical organization of our pelvic-girdle. We will question our habits in order to achieve more efficiency, exploring /considering the mobility and the stability and full engagement of the power of the pelvis in our movement. The sensory and kinaesthetic awareness achieved with the embodied experience of Feldenkrais will reach a different level when we meet a partner who has experienced the same somatic process. We will develop sophistication in reading, understanding and communicating with our partner in the physical conversation of our Contact dance and specifically we will play with a centre to centre connection. With our clever pelvis we will become stronger in support and lighter in flight, enjoying dancing the constant shifting of weight and the continues change of orientation of our Contact dance. Basic level of Contact Improvisation is expected. Simonetta is an Italian dance artist based in London. She has been practicing, performing teaching Contact for more than 20 years. She is qualified teacher of the Feldenkrais Method and she holds a P.G. Diploma in Choreography from London Contemporary Dance School, a T.C. from Royal Academy of Dance. She teaches at Trinity Laban, London Contemporary Dance School and Goldsmiths University.
