FESTA - Dance Party 'Portuguese Style'

IDW presents the 'Must Go!!' Dance Event of 2019 at the gorgeous Chapel in Shanklin - the Island's most atmospheric Dance Venue... It's the Isle of Wight's very own first-ever 'FESTA' - a Party for Dancers of all styles (or total beginners!) with music suitable for Modern Jive, Tango, Blues... Plus a 'warm up' lesson at 20.00 So what's a FESTA? (pronounced: 'Fesht(a)' - or just 'Fester!!' if you're Basil....) These are several-day-long outdoor Dance Events in Portugal in June, July and August, when EVERY village (however small!) competes to lay on the most exciting Dance Pary with fireworks from dawn until well past midnight, bands playing and other entertainment all afternoon and evening and non-stop (Yes, we *do* mean NON-STOP!) dancing for hours at a time... This FESTA is to welcome Mandy and Basil back from their travels and to give Phil French a warm 'Thank you' for looking after Wednesday nights so well whiile we've been away... We WON'T be doing the traditional fireworks (Shame!!), and we certainly won't be keeping the neighbours for miles around awake for four days solidly in a row like they do in Portugal.... But we WILL try to capture some of the atmosphere of these unique events for you... and don't miss the Intro 'Warm-Up' Lesson where we'll be introducing you all to dancing 'Portuguese Style'... (don't worry - it's easy and great fun!) We'll also be laying on some very basic refreshments/snacks (tea, coffee, squash, crisps and stuff - sorry, we'll only just get back to England in time for the party and won't have the time to cook you up any Pukka Portuguese Nosh!) but you can bring your own Sharing Plates and (alcoholic?) drinks too if you want...
