History of this Festival.
Festa Junina is a massive, month-long annual festival celebrated all across Brazil throughout June. It originally started as a European Midsummer and Catholic saint celebration introduced during Portuguese colonial rule, but it has evolved into a uniquely Brazilian cultural phenomenon that honors rural life, harvest season, and folklore.
In terms of scale and popularity in Brazil, it is second only to Carnival.
