Firehouse 5 Blues Night!

A brand new blues social dance night at The Firehouse 5 🎶 Every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month! Lesson: 7pm-8pm taught by Karen Click & Victor Lane Social: 8pm-10pm social dancing with DJ's Karolos Notis & Sammie Anne McKibben Cost: $5 lesson $15-20 social dance, sliding scale pay what you can $80 for a 30 day pass includes all fusion and blues classes & social dances ***volunteer options available for free entry! Lesson Description: Close embrace is a fundamental and rich part of blues dancing. In this class, we’ll learn cool ways to get into close embrace and funky moves to do while we’re there! Historical context: Blues idiom dances are social dances that developed alongside blues music in the South. Blues is a vast and diverse genre of music that stems from black culture in the 19th and 20th centuries. We want to celebrate that tradition of music and dance. Come out and blues with us!
