First Class Back - HNS Kizomba

Happy 2020 - We wish you Plenty Plenty ;-) We have our first class of the year this Tuesday the 7th Jan - YAY. Look forward to seeing you all! Kizomba Classes: Our classes are structured so that you can join at any time. No need for partners as it's group lessons – but partners are still welcome. Our Beginner Class starts at 7.15pm, so please arrive early, so that we are able to start on time. It’s R80pp per class (Pay as you go), or R280 upfront for 4 lessons, which do not have to be used consecutively. Payment Methods: Cash at door, an arranged EFT, Credit Card or Snap Scan. Grab a drink at the bar, find a seat and get chatting to the other Kizomba-Holics. You will know when we are about to start as one of the appointed instructors will be calling you to join them on the dance floor. The instructors will teach the 1st half of a routine and then put it together with a song, we then a break for 5 minutes, to rehydrate. After the break the 2nd half of the routine is taught and then danced/practiced to another song. We then encourage the students to stay after the class, practice and enjoy the Kizomba Rhythms. What to Wear: Dress is Smart/Casual. Shoes: To start off with it is not necessary to go out and buy dance shoes, but just to let you know - rubber soles e.g. takkies/trainers are not advised as you tend to stick to the floor. Office work shoes for men go down well and for the ladies a bit of a heel helps you into your turns. Ladies - please Do Not wear loose sandals or flip flops. We do sell dance shoes – info further below. Levels and when to move up: Level 1: Beginners You must have completed 4 to 5 beginner lessons, with practice after the classes before moving on to level 2. With no practice, you will not improve. After class, turn to the first person you see and ask them for a dance. Once you are completely comfortable with the basic Kizomba steps and turns, you may move on to level 2. Level 2: Improvers Here you learn the fundamental moves of Kizomba, giving you the best foundation to be a great advanced dancer. Don't rush this class, stick it out! In this class we have a 7 week syllabus, which you need to have completed the syllabus 3 times before even considering moving to the next class. Here it is always advised to ask your instructor if they think you are ready to move up another level. Level 3: Intermediate/Advanced In this level, we teach you a new sequence every week, giving you new ideas to put into your dancing. You are not expected to remember everything, but make sure you take away one new move, and practice it after class and try to implement it at the next Party.
