"First Fridays" Holiday Social & Cookie Contest

Preheat your ovens, the yummiest social of the year is almost here! Enjoy a night of good vibes, great music, and delicious treats at the 13th Annual First Fridays Holiday Social & Cookie Contest! The fun starts at 8PM with a beginner salsa lesson, followed by social dancing and cookie contest from 9PM until midnight. Admission is $15 and includes refreshments. (Cookie contest participants enjoy free admission!) COOKIE CONTEST GUIDELINES Anyone wanting to participate in the cookie contest should bring a minimum of 3 dozen cookies for each recipe they wish to enter. (Participants enjoy free admission to the social!) All cookies must be home-baked "from scratch", not from a mix! Cookies should be small in size (tasters don't often finish larger cookies). "Cookie" is loosely defined as a small, flat-ish, sweet baked good, distinct from brownies and cakes. (No-bake treats will be considered on a case-by-case basis.) Cookies must be registered no later than 9:15PM. Contest starts at 9:30PM and ends around 10:30PM. Three winners will be chosen by popular vote. Each participant is eligible for one prize only. If a given participant bakes multiple winning cookies, they will receive a prize for their top-ranked cookie. Prizes include bakeware, gift certificates, bragging rights, and the eternal admiration of your friends! PRO TIPS: treat each cookie as a potential vote. More cookies = more potential votes, so keep those cookies small! Also, late-comers are at a distinct disadvantage, as many tasters will have already cast their votes, so be on time! This event is "by dancers, for dancers" and includes a lesson, light refreshments, and social dancing. First Fridays are alcohol-free; youth under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
