During this time, he has been an instructor of many styles of dance, including salsa, cha-cha-chá, mambo, afro-Cuban, bachata, and merengue, among others. He has represented his home country of Mexico in many different salsa congresses around the world, including those in L.A., New York, Madrid, Barcelona, Puerto Rico, Munich, and many more. In 2002, he was crowned world champion at the World Salsa Federation. He will again represent Mexico in the Men’s Solo Category at the next Puerto Rico Salsa Congress. Growing up with the influence of his Cuban roots in music and dance, Garry knew that a future in dance was inevitable. With about 10 years of dance experience, Garry has worked along side many great dance professionals such as: Eddie Torres – The Mambo King, Griselle Ponce, Freddie Rios, Mike Ramos, Jayson Molina, Albert Torres, and many others. Garry has been traveling to teach and perform at congresses, festivals, dance events & schools from the East to the West Coast of the United States, and has also traveled internationally to countries such as: Canada, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Italy, Sweden, Japan and Great Britain. Garry has also been featured in concerts at venues such as Madison Square Garden dancing for Latin music superstars to include: Cheo Feliciano, Eddie Palmieri, Roberto Ruena, El Gran Combo and many others.
