About this Event

Swing Out Saturday: Workshops + Dancing If you’ve ever watched a swingout and thought, “okay but how do they do that?” or if you’ve been dancing for years and still tweaking the details… this day is for you. We’re diving deep into the heart of Lindy Hop with a full day of classes focused on the move that does it all: the swingout. Whether you’re just getting started or ready to take things apart and rebuild them better, there’s a track for you. Beginner Track (TDS Studio 4) 10:45–11:45 AM — Beginner Swing Out 1 with Edric & Valerie We’ll bridge the gap from six-count into Lindy Hop and get you started with your first swingout. 12:00–1:00 PM — Beginner Swing Out 2 with Edric & Valerie You’ve got a swingout. Now let’s make it actually work. We’ll focus on timing, connection, and making it feel good on the social floor. 1:45–2:45 PM — Swing Out Variations with Dee & Ellie Same structure, more personality. Add footwork, explore musical expression, and start making the dance your own. 3:00–4:00 PM — Swing Out Styling with Dee & Ellie Let’s play. Styling, rotation, new shapes, and new feelings all while staying connected. Intermediate/Advanced Track (TDS Studio 5) 10:45–11:45 AM — Swing Out Clinic with Naga & Ben Are you ever really done with your swingout? We’ll break it down, rebuild it, and uncover the details that make everything click. 12:00–1:00 PM — Fast Swing Outs with Naga & Ben When the tempo goes up, what changes? Learn how to stay grounded, connected, and actually enjoy the speed. 1:45–2:45 PM — California Routine with Lawrence & Deena A classic for a reason. Learn this iconic routine and see how swingouts power everything. 3:00–4:00 PM — Expect the Unexpected with Lawrence & Deena Take what you know and shake it up. Play with rhythm, connection, and familiar shapes in new ways. Come for one class or stay for the full day. Expect a little challenge, a little chaos, and a lot of those “ohhh that’s how that works” moments. Stick around for the evening dance. We’ll keep things going with social dancing to Keenan McKenzie and the Riffers, bringing driving rhythms, classic swing energy, and the perfect tempo to put your newly tuned swingouts to work on the dance floor.
