Many of their participants have been asking for a dance journey and celebration to help shake off the tension of this unique time and bring the dancing spirit of fun, celebration, vital energy and community into their homes. So it’s with great excitement that they offer their first distance Free Dance session, which is allowing them to dance all together with their global community for the first time and turn the isolation that many of us are experiencing into a moment of connection: connecting with our body, our breath, our presence, our inner and outer spaces and all the beautiful people who'll be sharing this experience. The ecstatic dance will trace a ‘wave' of music based on a map of 5 elements that moves the focus up through the body, to a vigorous high point of complete abandon, to then warm down again via more subtle poetic movements to a final meditative point. The session will start with Mari inviting us to let go of unnecessary holding patterns and let go of our limits by using visualisation and guided movement based on Skinner Releasing Technique, before Freddy starts the dance. Make sure you’re wearing loose comfortable clothes, have plenty of water near-by and a nice blanket for the more static moments. Perhaps enjoy placing some elements in your home that sooth you for example candles, low-level orange light, or an essential-oil. The session is in the evening time so as to be free of the practical distractions of the day time; our intention here is to totally abandon ourself to our bodies needs, switch off our heads, let go of all our tensions and nourish our self-love. Freddy is a professional performer and DJ. He has over 15 years of experience in ecstatic dance as practitioner and facilitator. Maria Rita Salvi is a certified Skinner Releasing teacher, choreographer and dance theatre performer with over 15 years experience of teaching, performing and facilitating across Europe. We offer this class for all and we welcome you to stretch and be in your body. It is a donation exchange for as little or as much as you can, the average has been £5 which is shared with our practitioners to keep the flow of money going for their great work.
