Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance originating in Angola. It is a derivative of French Caribbean Compas introduced by French Caribbean Kassav, which toured Africa. Actually, there is some confusion: Kizomba is a distinct Angolan style. After 1986, Kizomba music became very close to zouk, which is actually the French Antilles compas[1] promoted as zouk by Kassav and several French Antilles artists.
