Frenesí Social & WCNSC Dance Championship Salsa Prelims

We know it's been awhile, and we hope you'll join us for our June social! In addition to the DIRRSSSTTTIEST mambo, bachata, and cha cha cha, we'll be hosting the Chicago Salsa Prelims of the 2nd Annual WCNSC Dance Championship. Come to dance, and stay for the performances and competition! * Fun, friendly social dancing * Music by El Caobo * Performances at 11 PM - Urban Vibe teaser--check out what they've been working on! - A rare Chicago performance by Adrian & Kim :) * Salsa Prelims immediately following the performances * $10 donation at the door The 1st and 2nd place winners of the Salsa Prelims will receive prizes and the chance to compete for a share of $30,000 in cash and prizes in the WCNSC Dance Championship Finals!!! We look forward to seeing you at our social! --Frenesí Dance Company ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About the Windy City National Stepper's Congress (WCNSC) Dance Championship: The Salsa Division is open to all "On 1" and "On 2" couples, including professional dancers. Contestants will perform a prepared 2- to 2 1/2-minute choreography to music of their choice, and they will be judged on execution, timing, and synchronization. Tricks and lifts are allowed, but competitors must maintain a salsa/mambo foundation. Contestants can register online at www.windycitystepperscongress.com. The registration fee is $50 per couple. Registration closes at 12 AM Wednesday, June 27, 2011, with NO EXCEPTIONS. The Preliminary Round will be scored by 3 judges (2 experts in salsa/mambo and 1 expert in a different dance or performance genre). The 1st place winners of the Preliminary Round will win transportation, lodging, full event passes, and a chance to compete for the a share of $30,000 in cash and prizes in the WCNSC Dance Championship Finals (July 12-15, 2012).
