On Friday 9th August the new wave of latin music is coming to Camden Town bringing you another Viva Latino! night with a blend of latin american rhythms fused with global beats. SoundAmerika is a hot latin night with live music and DJ sessions bringing different latin american sounds and rhythms, this will be an special #SoundAmerika celebration of one of the legends of latin rock, Argentina icon Gustavo Cerati (Soda Stereo) on his 60th birthday we are remembering his music legacy with a live acoustic show by Chilean well known musician Yuri Betancourt and a selection of the best latin american tunes and cerati/soda classics. DJ session by Carlitos Nino from Colombia & special guests bringing a journey through latin american music, a latin rock session /Latin Funk /Ska/ all classic hits and a latin groove session with Tropical style grand finale. First serving as the frontman of Soda Stereo and later going solo, the Argentine rocker who became one of the most respected Latin American artists in history frequently put his sense of humor on display on stage and on video. He had a rare ability to create an intimate setting in an arena packed with 70,000 people, as videos from Soda Stereo’s 2007 reunion concerts in Buenos Aires show. In addition to Cerati’s hypnotizing voice, the everyday genius of his compositions, and his guitar skills, Cerati possessed a quality that is too rare in show business but one shared by true innovators.
