This edition is a LATIN ROCK special with THREE (3) bands: LOS CHAVOS + KACHIMBAZ (SYD) + BLACK MAGIC + DJs DEDE + FRANK! TIX @ https://bit.ly/nov_fiesta - LOS CHAVOS - An 8-piece explosion of Latin reggae energy Los Chavos channel the festival sounds and urban rhythms of Latin America to sway hips from Canberra to Colombia. Fronted by Andy Jauregui from Bolivia and backed by seasoned musicians from Australia and South America they have been moving crowds for over 10 years in Canberra and the festival circuit. Their live performances showcase the bands signature energy coupled with complex arrangements and a variety of Afro-Latin rhythms such as cumbia, dub/reggae, merengue, timba and chakarera but never straying too far from their ska/reggae roots. ​ - KACHIMBAZ (syd) - Kachimbaz covers classic rock songs with a latin twist, filling a growing market of Latin Rock lovers in Australia. Kachimbaz are respectful to the original versions of the song while maintaining a cohesive style unique to the band. Sonically distinctive in their embrace of a psychedelic dynamic style. Their dynamic and culturally influenced style makes for a mix of sounds and rhythms that are both different and groundbreaking for the Aussie audience. - BLACK MAGIC - Black Magic is a Canberra-Australia Tribute Band to the Mexican-American artist Carlos Santana. This act is based on old school, 70's music, of the world class musician Santana, famous from Rock'n'Roll to Latin American Jazz and Fusion, and which artistry have influenced generations of fans across so many genres of music. Black Magic ACT delivers a vivid performance, with dancing rhythms and grooves. The band is formed by a multicultural multi-genre mix of musicians, counting with Australian, Brazilian, Chilean and Goan backgrounds, and with music experience ranging from Latin, Rock, Metal, Jazz and Fusion. The Tribute re-enacts the Latin vibe Santana infused into Classic Rock and brought him into the spotlights after the famous appearances both on Woodstock'69 and Tanglewood'70. - DJ DEDE DA CRUZ - DJing is 'right of passage' for Dede - a chance to share with audiences the myriad of the Transatlantic and Afro Latin Sounds, music, dance and culture. Originally from Guinea-Bissau, he has lived in Mozambique, Lisbon, Portugal and the UK amongst other cosmopolitan and “African capital cities” of Europe. With a deep love and knowledge of Latin and Afro-Latin music, each unique set by DJ DeDe is a musical and cultural transatlantic journey! --------- WHAT IS FRIDAY FIESTA ?
