Boston Rueda is excited to be partnering with Guateque Cubano Dance Social and Special Guest Instructor, Paul Cassens of DC Casineros! NOTES: 1) New times 2) New Venmo 3) This week's class and special workshop will be held at a DIFFERENT location - The Guateque Dance Space at the George Dilboy VFW Post, 351 Summer St, Somerville, Mass 6:30-7:30pm - Level 1: Closed Position - taught by special visiting DC Casineros instructor, Paul Cassens 7:30-8:45pm - Levels 2 and 3 will be a SPECIAL workshop outside of the BR Payment System and will be taught by special visiting DC Casineros instructor, Paul Cassens: Paul will be teaching an open to all intermediate/advanced, fun and challenging 75 minute Casino/Rueda technique with variations workshop, perfect for our levels 2 and 3 and any intermediate and above Casino/Rueda dancer that wants to join. Level 1 will still be from 6:30 to 7:30pm but will have SPECIAL GUEST INSTRUCTOR, Paul Cassens. BR Passes or $15 drop-in will still be accepted 2. Levels 2 and 3 will be combined for a special and FUN 75 minute Casino/Rueda technique workshop that will feature the FUN move of Ola and its many FUN and challenging variations (sensing a theme yet? 😀). This workshop will be separate from the BR pass system and cost ONLY $20. It's open to ALL intermediate and Advanced dancers (our levels 2 and 3). But wait, there's MORE 😁 3. EVERYONE who takes either the level 1 class or the workshop, will get a discounted pass of ONLY $12 to dance at the Guateque Dance Social from 9pm to close! 4. All levels 2 and 3 pass holders can still take the level 1 class with Paul www.bostonrueda.com/ More about Paul: Paul Cassens is a principal dancer with the D.C. Casineros, a role which has given him the opportunity to perform, teach, and choreograph with the company throughout the United States and abroad. Like many of his Casineros family, Paul was introduced to Cuban music, dance, and culture by Jim Lepore at George Mason University. In 2018 the group was invited to give a concert at the Kennedy Center as part of their Artes de Cuba festival, which was streamed multiple times on the island. A frequent traveler to Cuba, Paul has had the opportunity to perform there multiple times since his first trip in 2012. In addition to his responsibilities with the Casineros, Paul is an instructor with Azucar, the GMU Salsa Club - where he was first introduced to Rueda de Casino by Digna Rodriguez, and faculty in the School of Dance where he teaches World Dance courses and is a percussionist. With a background in music, Paul received his BA from George Mason University studying under John Kilkenny and Ken Harbison, and pursued graduate studies at the University of Utah.
