SCHEDULE: Saturday, 7/23 Workshop #1: Spice Up Your Salsa with some Cuban flavor! @ 12 pm - 1 pm Learn how to fuse some of the most fun and popular Cuban traditional dances full of polyrhythm and groove into your salsa! From Mozambique, Cha cha cha, Pilón, to Cuban mambo, with a huge dose of musicality and mens’ and ladies’ styling! 👉🏾Whether you dance salsa on 1 or on 2 or Cuban style, this workshop is for you! (All levels, no partner required) Workshop #2: Salsa with Rumba & Son @ 1:10 - 2:10 pm Learn HOW and WHEN to add Cuban RUMBA and SON into your salsa, with seamless transitions between the two genres. Incorporating elements from the first workshop to give the full Cuban swag and flavor! Packed with musicality and mens’ and ladies’ styling! A class for all styles and dance background. First half of the class will be without partnering, the second half will focus on partner work. (Beginner to Intermediate levels) Sunday, 7/24 @ Oricha Dance Therapy ALL WORKSHOPS ACCOMPANIED BY LIVE PERCUSSION Workshop #3: Afro-Cuban Dance - Changó @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Join Jorge Luis Fernandez for a special Afro-Cuban dance workshop, focusing on the dances of the oricha Changó, from the Yoruba tradition. Owner of fire, lighting, thunder, and war, Changó is also the patron of music, drumming, and dancing. He represents male beauty, virility, passion, and power. Workshop #4: Afro-Cuban Dance - Oyá @ 12:40 - 1:40 pm Join Indira Mora Cueto for a special Afro-Cuban dance workshop, focusing on the dances of the Oyá, from the Yoruba tradition. Fierce female warrior. Oricha of the winds and tempest, owner of the marketplace, she represents change, transformation, and commerce. Workshop #5: Rumba Columbia @ 1:50 - 2:50 pm Join Jorge Luis Fernandez for a special workshop on Rumba Columbia!
