Full Blood Moon Celebration - Cacao, Yoga & Ecstatic Dance

In this sacred ritual, working with the plant we know as Cacao, and more importantly invoking the messages her spirit brings our awareness, we will go on a journey into the heart, in community connection. You are invited to this ceremony of life. You are the one you’ve been waiting for and this is an opportunity to dive deep through different practices and healing modalities to gain greater self-knowledge and self-love (and thus be able to understand and love others and our earth in greater capacity as well. This container is being held by the creative visionary and journeyman of the Holy Wow Cacao project, Mathew Chandler. Mat has worked with cacao for 8+ years and moved to Guatemala to work with Cacao directly at the source, 4.5 years ago. This event will be co-facilitated by Sophia Pickett, founder of Sophlow Yoga. Sophia has been hosting ecstatic dances in the community of Sebastian for 5 years, and she believes that dance and intuitive movement is a complete system. Without the pressure to perform the perfect posture, she invites you to curiously explore a variety of different shapes and movements paired with the melody of your breath to find that which works for you. Her "Phlow" practice expects nothing of you but a deeper breath and an exploration of what your body is experiencing in each moment. Her movement practice will move right into the dance portion of the evening, which is not guided give the guidance that the music pulls through you. Ecstatic Dance is a free form celebration of your body and its connection to music. With an intentional playlist, you are taken through a journey of sound. This ritual asks for your total attention and your ability to relinquish expectations. It is asked that you respect the sanctity of the dance floor by dancing barefoot, not interrupting the music with conversation, and not using your phone. Partners are encouraged to explore dancing alone, with others, and with one another as a way to deepen their connection to themselves and to each other. We ask for a suggested $30 donation for this 3ish hour journey. There will be time afterwards for sharing, but participants can leave at any time. We ask that you arrive on time, avoid caffeine the day of the journey, and show up with no expectations, coming exactly as you are. Dress up, dress down, no one is here to judge you.
