It is an expressive, playful, and accepting atmosphere allowing deep journeys into self-awareness, spirit, and connections with others. All states of being are welcomed, whether happy, sad, expressive or not...the intention is medicine for all. Altar space is lovingly offered with the invitation to invoke the sacred within yourself. This is an alcohol-free event with no chit chat and no phones on the dance floor. All dancing with another must be consensual—a bow of the hands in prayer pose communicates that “I would like to dance alone, thank you.” Please limit conversation to the outskirts of the dance area. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Wielding a style that blends organic instrumentation and vocals with deep bassy dance beats, expansive effects, loops, samples, and turntablism, CodeStar’s sets and productions are creatively inspired by an invigorating Love for Life! CodeStar is truly a reflection of our modern era’s rainbow of diversity, with a wide range of influences including world, electronic, reggae, funk, house, tribal, bass music, and more, combining it all into a style he has coined as “World Tribe Vibez”. In addition to being a seasoned Ecstatic Dance DJ, event producer, and MC, he has shared the stage with many talented artists, including Mose, Yemanjo, Mixwell, J.Pool, Nahko Bear, Tubby Love, Amber Lily, Tina Malia, Kabaka Pyramid, David Starfire, and more. Blessed to live in Durango Colorado, immersed in an amazing community, he brings positive vibes to every event he is part of. Starting out as a public radio DJ in 2007 in Durango Colorado, he played a sunrise show awakening the region with mellow beats. Since then, he has toured with the Salt Fire Circus as their DJ and shared the stage with EDM names such as Tipper, Heyoka (Andreilien), Bluetech, Kalya Scintilla, JPOD and Birds of Paradise to name a few. Preferring the Ecstatic Dance scene to share his array of sounds, he regularly plays all around Northern California, Colorado and New Mexico. With sets ranging from yoga classes to all night dance parties, Smiley Coyote taps into the pulse of the crowd and plays his sets completely for them.
