Fundraising Sensual Bachata workshop with Kathleen and Salem

The BAKER HEART AND DIABETES INSTITUTE is an Australian-based medical research Institute. Their research is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity - the biggest health challenges facing Australians today. On this special occassion, we would also like to dedicate 50% of our proceedings to the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. Please see below for the focus of this workshop: ******** SENSUAL BACHATA DECRYPTION WORKSHOP ******** The workshop will be divided into 2 sessions: - 1:30 - 2:30pm: Fundamental techniques: - 2:45 - 4:15pm: Application in a sequence with musicality For ladies - Decrypting signals in Bachata Sensual - Maximising your flexibility in body isolations - Making the most out of your movement - Embellishing without disruption For gentlemen - Understanding the principles in Bachata Sensual - Expanding your repertoire of moves - Focussing on preparation including balance and breathe control - Developping connection with the music and your dance partner ******************** THE INSTRUCTORS******************* Salem has recently returned from the enlightening Sensual Week 2017 in Cadiz; having had the opportunity to learn from a number of internationally-renowned dancers, he is looking forward to sharing his inspirations with fellow lovers of sensual bachata. Salem came from a background in hip hop (popping boogaloo) before he started his bachata journey in France, where he learnt mainly from Reda Dance. He moved to Australia in 2015 and has since established the popular tuesday bachata corazon night, where he teaches weekly with his dedicated team. Kathleen has a background in gymnastics, jazz and modern dance. Years of pursuing asthetic sports has equipped her with flexibility, grace, and a strong sense of body-awareness. Her areas of interest include interactive following, body isolations and ladies styling. She is a guest instructor at bachata corazon.
