It's a fusion dance and Superbowl party with DJs ⚡Volter and 🌩️Teravolt Tayla at Sara and Joe's! What's fusion? Take moody music, many different dance styles, and an inclusive and friendly group, mix, and invent your own dance to fit the music and your partner. Come to the workshop to find out more! Or, just blues, Lindy, salsa, tango, rumba, or West Coast all night, if you like. Wait, fusion and Superbowl? Yes! We'll have our usual dance in the main area and the game on in a different room. We've done a test and there is good-enough sound isolation to make this work. Neither dancers nor watchers will be disturbed by the others. You can watch, dance, or switch as you like. However, to attend you must either be a dancer or come as a dancer's guest. This is not an open Superbowl party. Also, there is strictly no alcohol allowed. If you are a newcomer, please attend the workshop. 6:00 Doors open 6:30 Fusion dance newbie workshop - Joe, Tayla, and Kyle - please come on time 7:30 Fusion social dance 10:30 Approximate end - will depend on game end time and what people want to do, which might depend on how close a game it is. Workshop: We'll cover the basic steps and some simple turns from waltz, swing, and blues; how to feel the music and put it in your body through your dance; and how to connect with your partner to create a dance together that is entirely new and fun! PLEASE COME ON TIME FOR THE WORKSHOP. For the social, Orlando's DJ ⚡Volter (aka Kyle Killough) travels the country DJing fusion dances. ⚡Volter has danced and dabbled in over 30 different styles of partner dance, while absorbing and getting sucked into music from all of them and more. Expect a wide range of tunes and tempos, genera and eras! ⚡Volter is joined this time by DJ 🌩️Teravolt Talya (aka Tayla Vinther) from Denver, Colorado! Please click GOING if you are pretty sure you'll come, so we can get an idea for how many will attend. This event is strictly no tobacco, drugs, or alcohol. You may bring non-alcoholic drinks or snacks to share if that's convenient for you, or tip the DJs, but neither is required.
