After a lengthy hiatus of all in-person programming across the Midwest, we are thrilled to invite you to begin the next chapter of your Brazilian zouk story with us and our team of amazing artists from St. Louis and Chicago for a safe, fun event featuring multiple workshops from absolute beginner to intermediate difficulty plus an afternoon practica and evening social dancing party--about 10+ hours of solid zouk! WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS + 12p - Back to Zouk Bootcamp (Just Jacob), covering zouk fundamentals, connection, basico, lateral, etc. Beginner / All Levels Difficulty. + 1p - Unlocking the Hips (Amanda & Joseph), exploring hip movement within variations of the basic steps to make your dance more fun and funky as well as more functional from a body mechanics standpoint. All Levels Difficulty. + 2p - 30 min break / practice + 2:30p - Leading & Following Multiple Turns & Spins (Just Jacob), covering core turn technique and spin technique for Brazilian zouk from lateral and viruginia entrance. All Levels / Intermediate difficulty. + 3:30p - Side Waves (Jospeh & Amanda), training your sideways body isolations and learning to use them to add flavor and functionality to "illusion movements," with variations on entrance and exit. Intermediate difficulty. + 4:30p - 30 min break / practice + 9p - Elastico to Yo-Yo (Just Jacob), covering two more fundamental options for zouk movement from basic or lateral entrance with comparisons to raul. All Levels difficulty. + 10p - Social dance party with DJs Just Jacob & Art Zag aka Art of DJ + 1a - Done!
