We are hyped to help you bring the funk to your dance journey as we explore the connections between authentic Brazilian zouk and legit hip-hop movement with our awesome team of artists from New Orleans, Iowa, and Chicago at a safe, fun event featuring multiple workshops from absolute beginner to intermediate difficulty plus an evening social dancing party--about 7+ hours of solid, zouky goodness! SCHEDULE & WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS + 7p - Back to Zouk but with Funk (Just Jacob & Alaris Todar): Brazilian zouk fundamentals, connection, basico, lateral, etc. while adjusting timing and musicality to the syncopation of hip-hop and funk. Beginner / All Levels Difficulty. + 8p - Hip-Hop Fluidity for Zouk (Joshua Hernandez): Hip-Hop fundamentals with emphasis on gliding techniques, body isolations, waves, and musicality. All Levels Difficulty. + 9p Room A - Urban Zouk Flow (Joshua Hernandez): Gliding in the basic step, leading and following body isolations and waves, adding a fun urban feel to your Brazilian zouk. All Levels / Intermediate Difficulty. + 9p Room B - Absolute Beginner Zouk (Just Jacob): If you bought the Saturday Night Party Pass but couldn't come to the earlier workshops, you still get this one :D Beginner Difficulty. + 10p - Social dance party with DJs Just Jacob & Fernando Weber aka DJ Web + 1a - Done!
