MORE INFO ON THE ARTISTS: + Paulo Victor & Luisa Teston (Brazil) have won 9 separate dance festival championships in Brazil. They are the current Brazilian champions in the category of "zouk" at the Brazil Latin Open 2018 and are the first Brazilian zouk couple in history to achieve a 2nd place finish in the category of "cabaret" at the most prestigious WCS competition in the world, The U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships, during their 2018 competition run. Luisa and Paulo will offer two all levels to intermediate workshops on Saturday as well as two masterclasses on Sunday. Click here for examples of their style --> http://smarturl.it/PauloAndLuisaVideos + Parker Amsel & Crystal Bedford (Cleveland, OH) pioneered zouk in Ohio through Parker's co-founding work at Cleveland's premier ballroom and Latin studio, Viva Dance, as well as Crystal's co-founding organization of Ohio's premier Latin dance event, Columbus Salsa Weekend aka SaBaKiZou. They are thoroughly studied in a wide range of dance styles in addition to zouk such as ballet, modern, ballroom, salsa, bachata, and more with nearly 20 combined years of instructional experience. Crystal and Parker will offer one all levels zouk workshop on Saturday as well as one masterclass on Sunday. + Nicole Gómez (Ann Arbor, MI) is the co-organizer and president of the ZoukMi Brazilian zouk community, where she also teaches semi-weekly zouk classes. Nicole trained as a figure skater as well as in salsa and bachata before transitioning to zouk. Her zouk development includes teacher training with the founder of zouk, Renata Peçanha, as well as hundreds of hours working with internationally renowned instructors in contexts abroad like São Paulo, Brazil and the Netherland. She will offer two workshops from absolute beginner to intermediate level on Saturday. + Jackie Danza (Stevens Point, WI) is a rising DJ in the Midwestern zouk and bachata scenes and currently the only DJ spinning zouk in Wisconsin. With over 25 years of dance experience before turning to DJaying, she has established herself as a choreographer, performer, and competitor with a strong emphasis on deep connection with the music to express life in the form of dance. Jackie will offer her services as a DJ and cover some masterclass instruction on musicality with Jacob. + Art of DJ (Denver / Chicago) has been mixing since the late '90s with heavy influence from contemporaneous Chicago house icons like BOBBYD and DJ Markski. Art learned to DJ the hard and old school way, using double CD players, turntables, and hardware mixers to hone core skills like beat matching and live mixing. Inspired by his exploration of Denver's social dancing scene, he transitioned to Afro Latin genres like Brazilian zouk, kizomba, bachata, and salsa. Art will offer his services as a DJ and lover of social dancing Saturday night. + Just Jacob (Chicago, IL) is an artist, producer, DJ, and CEO of Just Jacob Ventures LLC. He spins in residence at various clubs covering a range of genres and has helped organized multiple special events for zouk, including the midwest's first all-zouk festival, Future Zouk Chicago Congress.
