I will teach for 2 days at the Eden studio the movement quality explored for the piece. The workshop is especially focused on generating movement with your own creativity following the concept material and vocabulary of the piece GAMER, with choreographic choices that embody the dynamic of a video game character and integrating principle of resistance, propulsion, acceleration, slow motion, mechanics, postural bodies but also techniques such as popping, martial arts or release. Its aim is to encourage experimentation and expressivity in a wide range. Working with gravity, awareness of internal sensations, such as breathing, and visualisation of the energy released by movement in relationship to space and dimensionality. We will make solo and duet choreographic compositions over the 3 days. GAMER will be a full evening length choreographic performance set up for theater performance space. The project will be created in collaboration with a multimedia artistic team featuring 1 choreographer, 3 dancers, the AI artist So Kanno, the composer Nicole Carroll, the 3D visual designer Lucas Kuzma and a video programming and light designer. I’m looking for 2 dancer performers with stage creative experience in contemporary dance, contact, Hip Hop and or martial arts techniques with professional experience, nurturing a genuine curiosity and interest in the performative and artistic creation. An audition will happen on 15.08.21, following the workshop.
