About this Event

Gregory Dyke aus Frankreich ist in Dezember bei uns für den letzten Blues Workshop in 2016!** Über Greg und den Workshop: During the first 20 years of his life, Gregory thought that he was incapable of dancing. In 2006, bal folk changed his mind. Later, he discovered lindy hop, tango and blues. All dances that create an improvised connection to others and the music fascinate him - some say he thinks about it too much. For him, dancing is a form of self-expression that is accessible to everybody. In his teaching, he helps his students discover the simplicity of dancing and gives everybody the means to express who they are and how they hear the music. In this workshop we're going focus on musicality. We're going spend some time getting nerdy about the rhythms of Blues and how we can express them (including polycentric polyrhythms). We'll then work on our personal understanding of musicality in its broadest sense, and see how we can create partnered dance that is the meeting of two people's unique musicalities. For those who don't know what blues dancing is here a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7moOd7Or9Gg Der Workshop kostet wie immer 30€ für Nicht-Mitglieder und ist kostenlos für Mitglieder des 1. Boogie Woogie Clubs Nürnberg e.V. Ort: Sporthalle der Reutersbrunnenschule, Reutersbrunnenstr. 12, Nürnberg (Zugang über den Pausenhof) The price for the workshop is 30€ for non-members and is free for members of the 1.Boogie Woogie Club Nürnberg. You don't need to bring a partner. The classes will be at the sports hall of the Reutersbrunnenschule in Nürnberg. You have to go to the courtyard to enter the hall. **Following the workshop we will visit the Nürnberger Christkindlemarkt for a Glühwein and food and then head over to Tracey's (5 Minuten vom Hauptmarkt) for a nice, cozy holiday house party!!
