(and free) Teenagers by donation. :: GRATTITUDE :: What better way to live than with an attitude of Gratitude. That is what this weekend's dance will be all about. What do we have in our lives right now to be grateful for? How might we enhance our day to day experiences by embracing and enacting "Grattitude"? So yes, the spelling is purposeful; I am grateful that you noticed ;) "Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. Family Dance Temple Agreements: Dance Temple Welcomes families and children! To meet the diverse needs of our dancers we have created special "family agreements": - Children are welcome to roam free in the area at the back of the room (When we are Cumberland Cultural Centre) - Children are welcome on the wooden dance parkade floor area provided that they are accompanied & closely minded by their parents (for example; dancing beside their parent or guardian). - No speaking on the dance floor. - Children will not run through the wooden parkade dance floor unattended BUT CAN run around in the area in the back of the room. - During the opening and closing circles children will remain with their parents and remain as quiet as possible so that people speaking in the circle can be heard. ON BOUNDARIES & TOUCH: We recognise that touch and physical proximity can mean different things to different people. In this space we practice self-awareness of our own bodies, and the ways in which we engage with the moving bodies of others. We define consent as freely given, enthusiastic agreement for mutual participation. WHEN APPROACHING OTHERS: Make no assumptions! Look for a yes, look for eye contact Respect any no (including when someone is ignoring you or moves away from you.) Respect a Solo Dancer’s right to their space. Do not engage in physical touch without clear consent. This is a transformational space for dance, healing, prayer, laughter, joy, sadness and everything in between.
