Green Dragon Choreography Competition 2018

Dear Lindyhoppers! :) We would like to invite you to take part in the 8th Green Dragon Choreography Competition. What should you do? First you need to prepare choreography to a swing song, solo or in a couple, then you should record your routine and upload it on youtube and finally you should send a link to your instructional video to the e-mail address indicated by us. Winners take it all: - Full Passes for Dragon Swing 2018: Lindy Underground in Kraków! - free accommodation during festival time, - free meals (breakfast and dinners) through all 4 days, - possibility of teaching on our further events, - special and unique, The Green Dragon Trophy! Winners will teach the choreography during the event and perform with their students at the Grand Ball in the Wieliczka Salt Mine. We have also a reward for second and third place – free Party Passes for Dragon Swing 2018! ================================ === RULES OF THE COMPETITION === ================================ *** Step 1 – Make a routine *** The routine has to be an original routine, a solo routine, partnered routine or a solo routine performed by two people. It should be choreography that is at least 4 phrases long (swing phrasing, 16 x 8 counts) but no longer than 3 minutes total (either swing or blues phrasing), accesible for most of the dancers. During the event you will have only 2 hours to Teach the routine and you will get also an extra time for practice with your students, after the Saturday workshops and during the party. *** Step 2 – Record an Instructional Video *** Routine should be danced through with music, front to the cameras. Break down the whole routine, back and front to the camera in normal tempo and with counting, tempo can be changed (slow down) for additional breakdown. Instructions should be clear enough for everyone to be able to learn routine from watching the video. Whole body of the instructor must be seen at all times. Please, make sure that in the description of the video you include the name and artist of the song you are using (you can also say it in the video itself). If your routine is inspired by someone or something, please mention this at the beginning of the video. NOTE: the instructional video itself where the routine is taught can be up to 12 min long. *** Step 3 – Upload on youtube *** Upload the video to any youtube account and send the link to us ([email protected]) before midnight, 30 September 2018, with the title: Green Dragon 2018 competition – "names of performes". Make sure that your video stays online at least until the Dragon Swing event otherwise your ticket will become invalid. *** Step 4 - Wait for results *** Judging of this competition will be determined by relative placement by a panel of international judges.
