This class introduces the concept of a low base center and its relationship to gravity, movement, organizing self-sustainability and supporting the weight of others. Content: identification of bases and contacts, chains, bone communications and economy of effort in changes from low, medium, high and support levels. Teacher: Alexandre Mendes I’m an actor and dancer graduated in Dance by University of Rio de Janeiro. I’ve been offering classes and workshops in dance focused in Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation and Dance Theatre, mixing languages and their tools since 2014. My backgroun brings tools from somatic approaches like BMC, Bartenieff, Feldenkrais, Gerda Alexander for dance; and from physical theatre, like Étienne Decroux, Stanislavski and Meyerhold. My other graduations in Massage Therapy and Somatic Therapy/education increase the knowledges and tools used on the body work for dancers. In my classes in Contact Improvisation, I like to put focus on the principles that involve this practice: ground, flow, contact, time and space. In the case of this event it will be the first one.
