On Monday 29th September, Dance With Rasa Online welcomes Carol Goncalves as a guest teacher on the platform. Carol will introduce you to Bachata Pacheco, a unique and dynamic style of bachata from Venezuela that blends the rhythm of merengue with the passion of bachata! This workshop will cover an introduction to the foundations of the Pacheco style and how it differs from other bachata styles. Carol will put together a fun routine, blending everything together and combining footwork and rhythm. Her dance journey began in 2007 at Habana Caracas Venezuela, where she trained in Cuban Salsa and Rueda de Casino. Shortly after, she joined Son Rumbero for over two years, performing with their amateur team. In 2009, Carolina continued her training with José Castro at Influencia Rítmica, where she performed with both the amateur and professional teams for four years. By 2013, she had become a member of the professional team and represented Venezuela at the Dias Cubanos Salsa Rueda Competition in the Netherlands, where the group achieved 2nd place. That same year, she joined the Bachata & Salsa Academy under Edwin “Wiwi” Franco, specializing in the unique Bachata Pacheco Style. Over the next three years, she honed and developed this distinctive style, which would become a cornerstone of her dance career. Carolina has taken masterclasses with world-renowned instructors such as José Castro, Georgenis Cabrera, Fernando Sosa & Tropical Gem, Bárbara Jiménez, Ataca y La Alemana, Daniel & Desirée, Edwin Franco, Alex & Desiré, among many others, and has participated in Latin dance festivals across Europe. Today, Carolina is based in the United Kingdom, where she teaches and performs, proudly promoting the Bachata Pacheco Style. Together with her partner, Raul, she has been teaching this style for over five years. They have participated in numerous festivals across the UK and Europe, both teaching and performing, and are recognized as the official ambassadors of the Pacheco Style in the UK.
