On Monday 24th February, we welcome a guest teacher, the wonderful Anna Galenda, who will be teaching an intro to Zouk! Zouk is becoming an increasingly popular social dance, and we’re very excited to be joined by the lovely Anna Galenda, who will teach an introduction to Zouk. Since moving to London in 2023, she has taught Brazilian zouk with UKDC. Also she teaches bachata and Afto-Cuban dances. Anna is the co-founder of Kharkov Zouk Dance Studio in Ukraine and has been considered as one of the core building blocks of Ukraine’s social dance community since 2004, being an accomplished leader and follower. She has been popular on the international scene having taught and performed throughout Ukraine, Europe and Asia, among others, at Kharkov Zouk’n’Bachata Fest (Ukraine), Kyiv Dance Festival, Ukrainian Zouk Carnival, Bachata Sunny Days Festival (Ukraine), Odessa International Festival, Cyprus Zouk'n'Holidays Congress, Warsaw Zouk Festival & Marathon, Dutch Zouk Congress, Prague Zouk Congress, Swell Festival (Italy), Corazon Bachata Festival (Singapore), Scalalatina Festival (UK), Flowstate Festival (UK) and more. In addition to being an empowering and supportive teacher, Anna has accolades with top scoring in national and international showcase and freestyle zouk, bachata and salsa competitions and battles. She was even crowned the Men’s Styling Afro-Cuban Champion of Ukraine once! Anna currently specialises in Brazilian Zouk and she sees it as the one dance with no limits in means of self-expression. She is always glad to share her knowledge, experience and smiles with sensual dancers who are passionate about connection, body-awareness and musicality.
