Both of them taught at the recent Taiwan Zouk Festival, and they are excited to pair up again to share their latest knowledge with the Japan Zouk community. All about Gui: Inspired by the movie “Shall We Dance?”, Gui Prada started dancing in 2004, and has since gone on to study all Brazilian dances at various prestigious dance schools in Brazil under teachers well-known for their multi-disciplinary approaches, allowing Gui to incorporate various techniques into Brazilian Zouk to form his own unique style. In 2017, Gui moved to DC, Washington, and started his career as a local instructor at District Zouk, expanding overseas to over 30 cities and countries to become an accredited International Dance Instructor known for his specially crafted workshops. Today, he has become a reference in the execution of clean, comfortable fundamentals and its understanding of close connection, both from a physical and mental perspective. Gui is excited to return once more to Tokyo and share his latest knowledge with the Zouk community. All about Ting: Born in 1996 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Ting Lu began formal dance training at the age of seven. She graduated from the University of Taipei with a major in Chinese Dance and earned a Master’s degree in Performance Creation. Her dance background spans Chinese dance, ballet, modern, contemporary, street styles, and social partner dances such as HUSTLE, ZOUK, and WCS, in which she is proficient in both leading and following. As one of the first instructors to introduce Zouk in Taiwan, Ting also teaches Contact Improvisation, cultivating a heightened sensitivity to connection and refined body control. She has performed and competed in numerous countries, and more notably, she has appeared at the recent Taiwan Zouk Festival teaching alongside Gui in the event workshops. She brings a wealth of experience and specializes in blending multiple genres together to give dancers a never-ending flow of excitement and surprise. Expect a Brazilian Zouk set with mixes and themes you might not have heard before. *Note to participants: We kindly ask that you do not form queues for the artistes - they will come to you to ask you to dance.
