BAE brings you ๐“—๐“ช๐“ซ๐“ฒ๐“ซ๐“ช๐“ฎ ~ a celebration of women in Middle Eastern music, art and dance ! โœฌ โ˜พโ˜ฝ With an ode to the traditional banquet-style feasts from the golden days of legendary entertainers like Umm Kulthum, we gather to experience today's most talented female-identifying Arabic artists within an NYC oasis, re-weaving the threads between the East and the West, re-balancing the sound. We remember when the women were the rhythm-keepers, and oud, darbouka, violin, the ney flute and other ancient instruments played by masters of their craft combine with ethereal voices layered on organic oriental electronic rhythms to soundtrack an ecstatic evening. We receive the culture's true richness like never before . . . โ™ก Join us for a 3-course dining feast & dance celebration .:. โ€”โ€ข RSVP online: there is a limited amount of early-release discounted tickets: bit.ly/habibae โœฌ โ˜พ F E AT U R I N G โ˜ฝ 8pm - 10pm: 3-Course Feast DINNER (vegetarian/vegan/halal choices) + live music performance from a women's ensemble of The New York Arabic Orchestra 10p - 2am: DANCE Celebration with BAE DJs & live musical performances from โ€”โ€ข oriental electronica producer dreeemy โ€”โ€ข classical Arabic vocalist Nermein El Rawi โ€”โ€ข multi-instrumentalist April Centrone โ€”โ€ข Sufi mystical movement meditation by Juliet Gentile โ€”โ€ข bellydance fusion ritualists Sisters of the Blooming Sun โ€”โ€ข BodyArt by Tash, Tash Kouri โ€”โ€ข live art by Sufi creatrix Saima Yousuf โ€”โ€ข and more immersive offerings To Be Experienced! โœฌ โ˜พ T H E V I S I O N โ˜ฝ Arabian Nights: HABIBAE is an all-inclusive and intergenerational experience that distinctly features women across creative mediums (song, dance, and performance) and our liberating traditions from across the Arabic diaspora (from Iran to Egypt to Morocco and around the globe). You have no control over how your story begins or ends. But by now, you should know that all things have an ending. Every spark returns to darkness. Every sound returns to silence. And every flower returns to sleep with the earth. The journey of the sun and moon is predictable. But yours, is yู‡ู€ur ultimate A R T. ~ Heartwork, Suzy Kassem (Egyptian-American poet)
