Harlem Nights Band Night December - Tribute To Norma Miller. Saturday 4th December 2021 Tribute & Interactive Talk: 7:00pm - 7:45pm Social Dancing: 8:00pm - Midnight SPACES: Last 2 Tickets Left... Book Now! Join us for our monthly social dance Harlem Nights, in Watford which always sells out and has a great atmosphere, with live music and dancers travelling from around the UK. This months band: Corina Kwami & The Swing Selection. Our next one remembers The Queen Of Swing, Savoy Ballroom dancer Ms Norma Miller was our dear friend and a regular feature for many years at our events in Hertfordshire since the 2000's. As it's her Birthday, we're dedicating Harlem Nights December to honour her legacy. We'd like every swing dancer to be there for this special occasion, but of course tickets are limited and people are already waiting for tickets to be released, so we would recommend booking NOW to avoid disappointment. WHAT'S HAPPENING: 7.00pm - Tribute to Norma Miller, with clips etc in the lecture room. 8:00pm - Joseph & Charlotte will then teach a fun dance class suitable for all levels to launch the night, followed by social dancing to DJs and live music in main hall until midnight in the main hall. JIVESWING TRAFFIC LIGHT FORMAT: We will continue with the Jiveswing traffic light system in the form of wristbands. RED: - You prefer to dance soley with the partner you arrived with or you are dancing with people you have planned to dance with in advance. GREEN: - Please ask me to dance, I'm happy to dance with others. NB: Just let us know your preference on arrival and we will issue your wristband BOOKING: You must pre-book in advance. JiveSwing event numbers are still limited to achieve the best chance of continuing should things change and allow plenty of space to dance, so we advise booking now to avoid disappointment. COSTS: As numbers are reduced, costs reflects covering both venues, class, band, artists etc. Tribute, Class & Social Dance with live music will be £17.99 until 25th November then more thereafter. REFRESHMENTS: Please feel free to bring your own water bottles, alcohol and any snacks/refreshments on the night. Tea and coffee will now be available and we would appreciate you bringing your own mugs to reduce using single use cups! TRAINS: Watford Junction - London Overground (c5-10mins Walk) Watford Metropolitan Line (c15-20mins Walk) PARKING: Free Parking is available at the Church or you can use Sutton Road, Kings, Queens or Palace paid car parks. We recommend arriving early to guarantee a space. Please take a lateral flow test either the night before the event or the morning of the event.
