About this Event

ANNOUNCING: Our headliner for this July 14 Hillbilly Jazz show is King Leg. His TwangWave Mod Rock is a good fit to round out an afternoon of western swing, honky tonk and jazzy R&B. As a protegé of Dwight Yoakam, King Leg brings a myriad of talent to the show, from his colorful arrangements of classic pop songs to his honky tonk & rockabilly originals. For over a year now, we have been presenting great music at Original Mike's one Sunday each month for our very popular Hillbilly Jazz series. Dancers love the large hardwood floor, reasonable menu and drinks, and the free parking. (all ages) In July, we are pleased to announce that The Southwest Biscuit Co. returns along with first-timers Lil' Sue & the Cow Tippers plus JP McDermott's Rhythm & Bop. The Southwest Biscuit Company serves up a piping hot mix of western swing, hillbilly jazz, jazz standards and a little rockabilly for good measure. They have a vintage groove that is sure to keep you dancing as they channel Bob Wills and Spade Cooley. Lil' Sue and the Cow Tippers bring a bit of Americana to the Southern California music scene with a rockabilly twist. Their swingin' band now features Gene Cornwell on guitar. They combine their originals with the classics for a very compelling sound. J.P. McDermott's Rhythm & Bop are popular performers at beer joints, swing dances, concerts, festivals and special events. Their music makes you want to get up and dance. This is real, fresh, fun R&B, played like it was just written last night, and like your life depended on it. J.P. has been named Country Vocalist of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association on several occasions.
