About this Event

Rockabilly, Western Swing, big band R&B and TexMex music: We call it HILLBILLY JAZZ and it's a mash-up of four distinctly cool genres that all come together for one great party! Enjoy our Sunday matinee listening and dancing to four bands in these four genres: 1. Grammy-award winners Los Texmaniacs from San Antonio make a rare SoCal appearance with their TexMex inspired Tejano and cumbia sounds, featuring Max Baca on bajo sexto guitar and Josh Baca on button accordion. 2. The Moontones are our resident band for this series, and Shannon and the boys from LA play those old-style swing, jazz and R&B numbers as if they had written them - and many of their songs are originals. 3. Austin-based Big Cedar Fever recently won the award for 2019 Ameripolitan Western Swing Group in Memphis. They play vintage Western swing in a three-part acoustic style. Very danceable! 4. The Altar Billies perform rockabilly/swing/jazz, while building on the 50s rockabilly sound they are well-known for. Dance the day away... These shows start at 1 pm and go to 6, with doors opening at Noon. The bands will perform in reverse order starting with No. 4 at 1 pm and No. 1 Texmaniacs at 4:30. Make it a brunch date and enjoy the large dance floor.
