Recently, they were recognized as “Top 5 Best Teachers at ‘Las Vegas Kizomba, Bachata, Zouk e Salsa Festival 2016’”. They have been travelling throughout the United States teaching Brazilian Zouk and Tango. Lately, they were present as Instructors at the biggest Festivals and Congress such as Fall for Zouk (NYC), Las Vegas Zouk Festival, Baltimore Salsa-Bachata Festival, Washington DC Zouk Festival, San Francisco Zouk Festival, Get Your Zouk On (Montreal-CAN), Austin Bootcamp, San Diego and Riverside Bootcamp and they still have a full schedule ahead. Leonardo has over 19 years of dance experience, presents classes in zouk, tango, samba, forró and many others, has taught around 16 countries. In Brazil, he studied and was trained by the greatest Brazilian master Jaime Aröxa, and several others. He lived in Argentina where he studied Tango with the greatest names, such as Juan Carlos Copes, Sebastian Arce & Mariana Montes, Chicho & Juana, Javier Rodrigues & Geraldine Rojas and many others. After his graduation in Busines, he opened his own Dance School in Campinas, Brazil, in 2006. His school was known as a Dance Center, offering not only Brazilian Social Dances as Zouk, Samba, Forró, but Argentine Tango, Salsa, Ballet, Jazz Dance, Hip Hop, Stiletto, and many others. Besides he had prepared a great amount of couples for their wedding dance routine, and special events. He was awarded the Best Dance teacher for 5 years in a row, between 2011-2015. Catherine is graduated in Biological Sciences, with Education-Teaching Degree and Master Degree in Biochemistry. She is a Ballet dancer for over 20 years, over 10 years of teaching experience, she worked as a professional ballet dancer in São Paulo, traveling and performing throughout Brazil. She was awarded in the most important Dance Festivals along Brazil, as a soloist and as a corps de ballet. She has won two Best Ballerina awards around Campinas, achieved the best grade in the Exam of the National School of Cuba in 2013 placed in São Paulo and she was the Principal of a Ballet piece in 2014. Catherine has started her Brazilian and Latin Dance studies with Leonardo Bilia in 2010, being trained by him in all styles. Right at the beginning, she was invited to join the Leonardo Bilia Dance Company, performing and competing in the Zouk, Salsa, Samba, and Tango team. Thoughtfully they analyze body movement, investigate the lead and follow techniques. Applying their skills in teaching, helping students to absorb information according to their own perceptions and life experiences. They believe dance acts as an instrument for personal and social growth, self-esteem, physical and psychological health and welfare. ===ABOUT HONOLULU ZOUK=== Kimberly Loo founded Honolulu Zouk in 2015 as a vehicle for creating a dance family around teaching, performing, and choreographing Brazilian Zouk fused with other dances. Her dance philosophy is based around a desire for each dancer to celebrate awareness of their bodies, and to find joy in connecting with themselves, accepting their sensuality and ability to express themselves through movement. The Honolulu Zouk logo emphasizes how 'ono (delicious) zouk is, and how its dancers love to zouk always and all ways. Kimberly's teaching style is influenced by her ballet background and accepting of nonheteronormative dance roles. In its first year, Honolulu Zouk was invited to perform for "zouk royalty" at Zouk Night Love in Mexico and received a standing ovation! They have been gracing the Hawaiian Islands and the mainland US with dance instruction and dazzling performances every since!
