Dancers, settle in and tune your bodies—DJ Hooplah is here to guide us through a rich and rhythmic journey across sound and space. DJ Hooplah (Joshua Roberts) began DJing in 1993 after going to an underground dance party and experiencing live turntable mixing in person. He has been spinning ever since. With beginnings in trance and techno, his style blossomed following his introduction to Ecstatic Dance. Combining world-bass, ethnic music, tribal beats, breaks, house, psy-bass, and downtempo, he weaves multi genre journeys that take the dancer around the world. Hooplah has played sets all over, including events in: Salt Lake City, Trinity Hot springs, Burning Man, Incandescence, Decompression, Colorado, Unleash!, Guatemala Eagles Nest, Hawaii, Boise and Idaho Falls. He also owns Xstatic Sound, providing large scale sound for festivals and dance venues. Dance is FREE on your Birthday Week ✦•··········•✦•············•✦ Community Guidelines: - Move however you wish, while respecting the space of those around you - No talking on the dance floor, there is plenty of space in the temple for conversation - We ask that you refrain from use of cell phones, photos, video, & strong scents during the dance - Ecstatic Dance is a Drug & Alcohol Free Space - Our dance is built on consent. It’s important to get a non-verbal invitation to dance with a partner, and we ask that you maintain that level of respect during and after the dance ends.
