About this Event
Tango Mercurio and Aja Fenn Tango present an inspirational evening with internationally acclaimed tango dancer, teacher, and artist Murat Erdemsel, who will give an entertaining and educational lecture on How to Listen to Music.
This audio-visual keynote presentation includes audience participation and short practical games, and is sure to be a great way to spend a Sunday evening, whether you're a dancer, a musician, an artist, or a lover of music and art of any kind!
Murat will explain the fundamentals of music and dance by making them all visual, freely trespassing the boundaries between them, and showing us how easy is it to link knowledge of one to another.
A former DC resident, Murat now travels 40 weeks per year to teach and perform Argentine Tango and give public lectures. His master-level education in fine arts (George Washington University) and his passion as a musician are sure to make this a great evening.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Immediately afterwards is the Milonga de Luz, a traditional Argentine Tango social dance, which takes place at Stroga every Sunday. Free to watch! (Dancers are welcome to stay for the usual entrance fee.)
