Book now before spots fill up! 💥🎶 ABOUT MARIEL GASTIARENA Mariel started dancing Lindy Hop in 2004, when she was 14. Since that time she dedicated herself to dance Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Tap, learning at the same time other different dance styles and incorporating different elements that defined her personal style. She also studied music at the Superior Conservatory Manuel de Falla and later on she focused her training in swing music, learning piano, clarinet, drums and singing. Her musical training is reflected in her highly rhythmic dancing style, which has made her an expert in teaching various aspects of music theory applied to Swing dance. She has her own project as a dancer and singer with Swing City House Band. Mariel is co-founder and co-director of Swing City, the first Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz and Tap school in Argentina and Swing City Jazz Club. Also, she is co-producer of CA.PO.S, (the Buenos Aires Swing Dance Championships) and ILHC Latinamerica. Mariel teaches regular classes in Swing City and workshops in several countries around the world, and she is one of the most well known dancers in South America. ABOUT SWING CITY HOUSE BAND Formed in 2022, Swing City House Band emerges as one of the most dynamic swing bands in Latin America. Originating from the heart of Swing City, the premier swing dance school and jazz club in Argentina, this band embodies the passionate and energetic spirit of the swing community. Led by Mariel Gastiarena, one of the most renowned swing dancers in Latin America with an international career, alongside the finest musicians from the local jazz scene, Swing City House Band delivers a unique show that masterfully integrates the music and dance of the Swing Era. Recognized on both local and international stages, it has been the main band at two Latin American editions of the International Lindy Hop Championships in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Its repertoire, which includes danceable Jazz, Swing and Rhythm & Blues classics from 1920s, '30s, and '40s, keeps the vibrant essence of this culture alive. Their album, "Bouncin' in Buenos Aires," available on all digital platforms, captures the contagious energy of their live performances, solidifying their position as a benchmark for swing in Latin America.
