I-OPENER invites you into a Sunday morning gathering with community to co-create a journey together… with a mix of teachers, DJs, artists, and musicians to weave a rich experience with our worldwide ecstatic dance community and local dance family. And you! yes you! are an essential part of making this happen!!! *** Spread the word *** invite friends and family to come celebrate in dance and renewal with us… SUNDAY, February 19th… with an opening circle to ground us, a guided warmup by Nikki Li leading us into connective movement, and resident house DJs * Michael Swerdloff & Journey Weaver * taking us through an ecstatic wave to invite, connect, and infuse us with heartwarming dance 💞 … come together with your I-Opener Family and reconnect with your monthly dose of dancing bliss! ✨ 💠💠 PROGRAM 💠💠 10:45am Doors open, Welcome 11:00 Opening Circle & Guided Warmup w/ Nikki Li 11:30 Dance Wave w/DJs Michael Swerdloff & Journey Weaver 1:00 Closing Circle & Community Connections 💜 Arriving: please try to arrive early and be ready to join 11am Opening Circle… after that honor your later entrance into the dance by taking a mindful walk around the outer edge of the space to arrive, calibrate, and connect 💜 Afterglow: We invite friends to help clean and clear the space after dancing, connect in conversation and care for our community’s home before heading out into your world… carry the good vibrations of the morning into your lives and pass them along to others 💠💠 LOCATION 💠💠 The Somerville Armory 191 Highland Ave, Somerville MA Entrance in front and Dance Hall inside lobby strait ahead Parking: available in Lot behind the building and along the street (free on Sundays). Carpooling encouraged. Public Transport: 15 minute walk from Davis Square which is on the MBTA Red Line. Accessibility: The Somerville Armory is fully handicapped accessible. Children must have a guardian to help them engage, in the dance space or out in the lobby, at all times. Judgement free, move how you wish in awareness of others and their space 3. No digital devices, capture the experience with your eyes and heart 4. Respect yourself and one another, always get consent Connect with inquiry before assumption, give yourself the gift of being fully present and free of distractions, enjoy a natural high, and co-create the experience with consideration. We dance barefoot and suggest wearing comfortable clothing to move in and bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated. We offer a guided warmup, a carefully curated dance wave, co-created community art, themed altar for self reflection, side areas for connection, and opening & closing circles to hold time and space.
