Which „language“ skills can we practice and deepen in our moving bodies to become more fluent in „speaking CI“? This workshop is about training and playing the principles that we need to communicate in Contact Improvisation. It’s designed for introducing the dance to newcomers as well as for deepening and possibly challenging the language skills of the experienced dancer. We will be greeting gravity to celebrate the movement possibilities that arise from using the floor as a support, to surrender and release our minds and to learn ways to softening our bodies. We will experience and understand touch as a means to communicate movement, direction, possibility and play. We will learn how to dance together, sharing one common centre of gravity. There’s this whole world of body words to investigate, learn and expand under our skins. It is there for us to communicate in this movement language called Contact Improvisation, always present, always fresh and downright honest.
