IC Salsa and Bachata Team Trials

On Sunday 20th October we will host taster sessions and auditions for our competition and performance teams! All taught by our award winning coach Alex Rasero. 13:00 - Beginner's Choreo Many of our current Committee members and best dancers started with this group last year. Even if you have 0 dance or performance experience, these rehearsals will teach you all you need to put on a fantastic Latin dance show and increase your confidence and style while dancing! There is no selection process for this group so all are free to join the session. 14:00 - Beginner's Freestyle (Salsa & Bachata) The focus of this class will be put on getting everyone well versed in the fundamentals of leading, following and performing, to build confidence to perform and compete in social dance competitions. This class will alternate week to week between Salsa and Bachata. This session will be Salsa. This is session is free for everyone to try! 15:00 - 16:30 - Bachata Choreo Audition This will be an audition for our brand new Advanced Bachata Group. This team will learn an exciting and challenging Bachata choreography to compete at the competition in Birmingham in February, alongside our Salsa Team. Expect to work hard and push your level of Bachata to new heights! The team will be selected based on those who attend the audition. No prior preparation or partner is necessary, we just need to assess the level of those who will take part. 16:30 - 17:30 - Advanced Freestyle Training This class will be for dancers who are already confident social dancers and want to push their skills to the next level! Here Alex will train us in the techniques, skills and strategies necessary to shine while competing in social dance competitions! We will be attending competitions in Loughborough (Dec), Birmingham (Feb) and Reading (Mar). This class will alternate week to week between Salsa and Bachata. This session will be Salsa. 17:30 - 19:00 - Salsa Choreo Audition This will be an audition for the Advanced Salsa Group. This team will compete at the competition in Birmingham in February, alongside the Salsa group. Our Salsa Team has won the competition for the last three years in a row and we intend to keep up our winning streak! Come and try out if you think you have what it takes ;)
