About this Event
In April, we moved our monthly Bachata Nites to the gorgeous Chapel in Shanklin - the Island's most atmospheric Dance Venue - and we'd love to see more of you coming along in May!
If you haven't tried this close and wiggly fun-filled improvised Latin Partner Dance before, come along and give it a go - the first lesson of the evening is completely Beginner-Friendly and you REALLY don't need to bring a partner with you! It's very popular with Salsa and other Latin dancers, but also a stand-alone dance that's ideal for a variety of other modern music!
Experienced Salsa Dancers or dancers from other styles of Bachata (e.g. Bachata Moderna or Sensual Bachata as taught in Salsa clubs) are particularly welcome too - there'll be plenty here to help you to rethink your approach to dancing Bachata!
Expect lots of laughs and a more Traditional (Dominican) approach to close connection and independent footwork with NO '1,2,3, 'Eeek!!, 5,6,7, 'Eeek!!' and NO over-led grindy 'Sensual' moves!!! ;)
Two levels of lesson followed by Freestyle Dancing! At the Chapel at the YMCA, Sandown Road, Shanklin PO37 6HU.
Big Free Car Park on Site
Opens 19.45.
£7.50 all evening (includes 50p donation to Chapel Restoration Fund!)
