Igor Fraga with the Armada

On August 15th, Igor Fraga of New York City will be joining us to teach a two hour workshop. Time: 4:00 - 6:00 PM Location: Champion Ballroom Center of Knoxville Price: $30 for General Public $25 for members Social: 9 PM - 3 AM Armada Igor's Bio: Igor Fraga was born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He was first exposed to social dancing at 14 when he began learning Forró. He found Zouk in Brazil and fell in love with the dance at first sight. Just a year after moving to the U.S., he started taking classes with Kim Rottier and Henri Velandia. Looking to further his studies, he expanded his mastery of the craft by specializing in various sides of the dance: Rio-Zouk, NeoZouk, ZoukFlow, and RnB Zouk. In January 2013 he became a certified instructor through Zouk NY. He is no stranger to competing in zouk. In 2013 he won his first award as the Zouk Champion in the Amateur division. In may this year, he won his latest award as the 2015 Zouk Champion of North America in the Semi-Pro category. Igor has been teaching group classes, privates, choreographing, performing, and DJing, since 2013, all over United States and Canada, in cities including New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Recognizable for a very smooth style of dancing, he believes that the soul of the dance is FLUIDITY. And the most important things to have great dances are caring for the connection with your partner, and the musicality, bringing all together as one.
