ILHC 2017 Viewing Party (+ sweet moves practice)

The International Lindy Hop Championship (ILHC) is the arguably the biggest and most prestigious swing dancing competition in the world. It takes place in Virginia, USA, on the last weekend in August, and this year we in Frankfurt have organised the opportunity to experience the incredible event together! :-) Clips of the competitions are available on Youtube in the week following the event, and while many of us sit at home watch these unbelievably impressive routines over and over and over again, how about this year, we watch them all for the first time, together!?! Stephanie will be our curator, selecting clips from this years event to screen from all competition divisions. She will also show a select few truly classic routines from previous years, for the uninitiated :-) She will also provide a short commentary on divisions, dancers and history of the event between clips. So bring whatever food/drink you wish (also for sharing if desired), picnic rugs, fold out chairs (though I believe there are some available in the hall), and prepare to share all those "OMG I can"t believe they just pulled that off" moments with your best swing buddies :-D Of course non dancers are welcome, but after the screening, we will DJ some music and have a bit of a social dance, so you can work on those amazing moves you just saw for the first time :-P I'm willing to bet you won't be able to watch these performances without being inspired to do it yourselves!!
